Although writing has been the main form of expression in my creative life, I enjoy painting as well. Some of my paintings have appeared on book covers. I've also illustrated books of poetry. I use acrylic and/or watercolor. I started this present series when a good friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer. Because I imagined him a strong horse, I painted "The Medicine Woman and the Red Horse." A companion poem is "There are no horses in this poem, Bo," which can be found in at the helm of teilight. I started some of the paintings over twenty years ago; recently I formatted them into new pieces. "Owl Woman" is a good example of this. Both the barred owl and the circle owl woman were painted separately. Individually, they lacked imapct so I put them together. Nothing is computer generated, although I have copied some parts of my work on a xerox machine.
I have MS. the healing energy of animals and painting has helped me immensely. I hope they help you too.
