The Nile

Standing like a white column
is someone
like cleopatra,
fanning her lover and king.
Their bodies suited by golden necklaces,
crowns of cobra, woven sandals, glittery rubies
and red fabric that tells secrets.
A sexy river waits
for the sunset
to feed the white swans, goldfishes,
and wild ducklings kissing
cattails below her feet.
